1. Presentation
  1. Communication is power. And communication is a critical condition for us to achieve the strengthening of our organizations. To this day we have not been able to create permanent mechanisms of translation and interpretation for the members of the Directive Board (CDC), the Board of Coordination (CCC) and the member organizations, just as little as in regard international organizations. This is one of the reasons that the leadership organisms have difficulties in respect to more collective activities and that little use is made of the skills and experiences among all the organizations of the Amazon Basin.

  2. COICA´s Program of Voluntary Translators and Interpreters PTIV is an effort to overcome one part of the grave problems of communication that we are faced with among the member organizations. It is based on voluntary contribution regarding the written texts of the COICA AMAZONIC portal, of the magazine “Our Amazon” , web management or books that we publish. Secondly, there would be interpretation tasks during the assembly of CDC, CCC and other types of work meetings of COICA and its national member organizations. Likewise our leaders are in need of assistance during visits at multilateral organisms.

  3. It is a program of voluntary support, for we strive to diversify the resources with which to count and to overcome this way the dependency in relation to international cooperation. What is more, we provide a useful experience of solidarity for non-indigenous individuals all over the world, who want to directly aid indigenous organizations.

  4. The Program will be operating using the tool of the internet to adminstrate and communicate with the participants of the program, without it being limited by the geographic location, time or funds for sending or receiving materials. People will receive materials according to their availability of time.
