2.2.4 Our Actions on Territorial Concerns
The strategies of the organizations of the region aim to reach two intimately related issues: that of territorial security and the internal consolidation of the territories. The first, territorial security, understood as our right to count with perpetual guarantees on the possession, inalienability and the integrity of our territorial spaces through generations and to develop within them as collective subjects, all the aspects that will enable a better well-being or the present and future welfare
(16). These constitute an effort focused to ensure the external legal, political and economic conditions that guarantee the full prevalence of our rights, so that we can live in peace and in freedom in our territories, in relationships of respect and equity with other social sectors. However, this demands before all, the respect to our right to territory by external public and private actors.
Regarding the second aspect, the territorial consolidation, it refers to strategies focused to strengthen the internal conditions for the exercise of the right to territory. It is related to the precision of the exercise of our self government, control and territorial autonomy; it is based on the life plans that establish the ruling principles to harmonize the different elements that from its point of view allow for the design of a possible, worthy and free future as peoples and persons, where the harmonious relationship with the natural world is a fundamental part.
